These terms apply to viaexam.com. By taking a practice test or buying a pass, you accept them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, email support@viaexam.com.
1. Who we are
ViaExam is a trade name of Glomedia B.V., a private limited company registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 54778573, VAT number NL851436869B01, Heilige Geestweg 18, 2201 JS Noordwijk, the Netherlands. In these terms, “we” means Glomedia B.V. and “you” means the person using the site.
2. What ViaExam offers
ViaExam is an online practice platform for the French civic exam (examen civique). It offers:
- a free diagnostic test of 10 questions, with no account needed;
- a paid 60-day pass with full mock exams in the exam format (40 questions, 45 minutes) for all three levels (multi-year residence card, resident card and naturalisation), practice by theme, your results per theme, and an explanation for every question in French and in a language of your choice.
3. ViaExam is independent
ViaExam is a private service. We are not affiliated with, approved by or acting on behalf of the French State, the Ministry of the Interior, the prefectures, OFII or any exam centre. We do not register you for the exam and cannot influence your exam result or any residence or naturalisation decision.
The knowledge questions are based on the list published by the French Ministry of the Interior (reused under the Licence Ouverte 2.0). The scenario questions, the explanations and the translations are written by us. Official rules and question lists can change. We update our content when they do, but we cannot guarantee it always matches the latest official version. For official information, see service-public.fr and formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr.
4. The 60-day pass
- One-off payment. The pass is not a subscription. It does not renew and you will never be charged again.
- Duration. The pass starts when your payment is confirmed and ends automatically 60 days later.
- Access. We send a sign-in link to the email address you used at checkout. You can request a new link at any time at viaexam.com/pass.
- Personal use. A pass is for one person. Please do not share your sign-in link or your access with others.
5. Price and payment
The price is shown before you pay, including VAT where it applies (for example €19.90 in the euro area). Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Stripe emails you a receipt, and your bank statement shows VIAEXAM.COM.
6. Refunds and right of withdrawal
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason, even if you have already used the pass. This includes and goes beyond your legal right of withdrawal as a consumer in the EU. When we refund, the pass ends. See our refund policy for how it works.
7. Fair use
You may not copy, scrape, republish or resell the questions, explanations or translations; use bots or other automated tools on the site; share access; or try to disrupt the service. If we see clear misuse, we may suspend the pass concerned. If we suspend a pass without a valid reason on your side, we refund it.
8. Intellectual property
The site, the scenario questions, the explanations and the translations belong to Glomedia B.V. Official material stays under its own licence. You may use ViaExam for your own preparation.
9. No guarantee of success
Practising improves your chances, but passing the exam depends on you and on the official exam conditions. Scores on ViaExam are an indication, not a prediction of your official result.
10. Liability
We take care to keep ViaExam accurate and available, but we cannot promise that it is always error-free or online. We are not liable for indirect loss, such as a failed exam, a refused application or a missed appointment. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your pass. These limits do not apply in case of intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow them.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that was online when you bought your pass applies to that pass.
12. Questions and complaints
Email support@viaexam.com. We reply to complaints within 14 days. If we cannot resolve a cross-border dispute together, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help you for free.
13. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country, and you may bring a dispute before the courts where you live.
